費城人「小李飛刀」Cliff Lee日前對太空人熱身賽初登板，先發2局無失分，賽後他感覺狀況不錯，不過現在傳出舊傷復發，醫生建議他動刀，為此Cliff Lee難掩失落：「要是確定進行手術，我的球季生涯差不多也掰了。」

去年球季Cliff Lee因手肘受傷僅出賽13場，當時醫生評估傷勢，認為透過積極復健，他有90%機率回復到健康狀態，不過事與願違，出戰太空人後傷勢再度復發，接受核磁共振檢查後，醫生表示最好的辦法是進行手術。

36歲的Cliff Lee百感交集說道：「這可能要花6至8個月的時間休養，今年球季就不用打了，事實上，我的球季生涯也有可能就此結束。」

面對突如其來的狀況，Cliff Lee指出去年養傷至今都沒有出現太大的問題，老天爺卻開了一個天大的玩笑：「這幾個月都好好的，好不容易登板投球，現在卻發生這種事。」

若接受醫生建議動刀，Cliff Lee可能就此結束球季生涯，他儘量讓自己保持樂觀：「我不用去後悔什麼事，因為我盡力了，最起碼我做足準備面對一切。」
