嘉義市政府今天舉行單車成年禮活動，有1000多名青少年參加，藉著騎乘單車環繞成長的地方，留下美好回憶。

嘉義市「為愛騎乘、讓愛啟程」單車成年禮上午在市府北棟廣場舉行，活動在副市長李錫津等人鳴槍開始，單車騎乘路線從市府北棟廣場集合出發，繞行嘉義市東西區後返回集合點，沿途可欣賞嘉義市人文與自然風光。

李錫津表示，自98年起辦理「單車成年禮」活動，參加的學生除國高中生，還有小學生，共同漫遊嘉義市的田園、城市、河堤、環潭及自行車道風光；這項活動希望藉由長途體能訓練與心靈激勵，培養積極的人生觀。

李錫津指出，成年禮深遠含意「轉大人」，這是人生第一件大事，「轉大人」表示對自己所作所為都要負起完全責任；單車成年禮活動，考驗參加者的毅力、耐力、體力，希望人人都能挑戰成功，為自己成年禮留下美好回憶。(中央社)
